This is the set for dullness. Vitamin C and niacinamide from the cleanser through to the cream, and a sunscreen in the box so the rest of it is not wasted.

What it does for you

Ascorbic acid — vitamin C. The reason we point this set at dullness and uneven tone rather than at dryness. It is the active doing the visible work.
Niacinamide, printed on all six pieces. Widely used for evening out tone and for the look of texture. You get it at every step rather than once.
Sodium hyaluronate — hyaluronic acid. Holds water in the skin, so the vitamin C lands somewhere hydrated instead of somewhere tight.
Centella asiatica. The maker's soothing ingredient. It is why this set is gentler than most vitamin C routines at the price.
A sunscreen in the box — SPF 50 PA+++. The only one of our sets that includes one. Brightening without sun protection undoes itself.

How to use it

Morning: cleanse, tone, eye cream, serum, essence cream, then sunscreen last.

Evening: the same, without the sunscreen.

Start the serum every other night. Vitamin C is active, and skin that has not met it before will tell you so.

Is this the one for you

Yes, if your skin is normal to combination and reads tired rather than dry. Yes too if you do not own a sunscreen you actually wear.

No, if your skin feels tight by midday — the White Truffle set is richer. If it flushes and stays flushed, the Centella set is gentler.

Ingredients

Key ingredients named by the manufacturer: centella asiatica extract, niacinamide, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid). Every one of the six pieces carries the same three — niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. The essence cream adds Prunus lannesiana (sakura) flower extract.

Before you start

On the SPF: the 50 PA+++ rating is the manufacturer's, printed on the tube. Treat it as one layer of your sun protection rather than the whole of it, and reapply through the day as you would any sunscreen.

Vitamin C is an active. Build the serum up slowly, and wear sunscreen while you use it.

Patch test anything new. A little on your inner arm, then give it 24 hours. Stop using it if your skin reacts.
