Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush

Your hands do their best at the basin. Your sunscreen and the day's dust still hang on by the nose and along the hairline. This is a soft silicone brush that hums while you wash.

What it does for you

Soft silicone bristles move with a gentle vibration as you wash. They work your cleanser over your face more evenly than fingertips alone. The face has three zones of bristles, from fine to firmer. The finest bristles suit the sides of the nose. There are five speeds, so you can keep it gentle or give it more. Silicone dries quickly and rinses clean, unlike a nylon brush head.

What's in the box

One brush, or a pack of two in the same colour, with a USB charging cable. The brush is about 10.5 by 6.5 cm and 2.5 cm thick, and weighs about 85 g. It comes in pink, blue, green, black and purple; the two-pack comes in black, green and pink. There is no wall plug in the box. Use a USB phone charger of 5V 1A.

How to use it

Wet your face and put your usual cleanser on your skin. Wet the brush, switch it on and start on the lowest speed. Move it in small circles over your face for about a minute, around 20 seconds on each area. Keep it away from your eyes. Rinse your face, then rinse the brush and let it dry standing up. Once a day is plenty, and every second day is enough for sensitive skin.

Charging. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery that charges through the USB cable. A full charge takes about 40 minutes. Dry the brush and the charging port completely first, then charge it away from the basin and the shower.

Is this the one for you

Yes, if your hands leave makeup or sunscreen behind and you want a more even wash. Perhaps not, if you would rather skip the charging. The Silicone Face Scrubber does the same job by hand with no battery at all.

Before you start

Do not use it on broken, sunburnt or irritated skin, on active breakouts or on a rash. Keep it off your eyelids and the skin around your eyes. Use light pressure, and keep the brush moving rather than holding it in one spot. Start on the lowest speed. If your skin stays red or stings, stop and give it a few days. Never charge it while it is wet, in the bathroom or with wet hands. It can be used wet at the basin or in the shower. Do not leave it soaking, and keep it out of the bath. Do not share it, and wash it after every use. Stop using it if the silicone tears or the body cracks. Keep it away from small children.
