Rose Quartz Gua Sha, 14 Shapes

Some evenings your face holds the whole day. Your jaw is clenched and your shoulders sit up near your ears. This is a cool, pink stone that fits your hand and five slow minutes.

What it does for you

The stone stays cool against warm skin. Drawn slowly over a little oil or cream, it turns your skincare into a massage. Your cream or serum spreads further, and you get a few unhurried minutes to yourself. Use it on your face, neck and shoulders, or on tired hands and feet.

What's in the box

One stone in the shape you choose. There are 14 shapes. The heart, butterfly and V shapes are the classic face shapes, with curves that fit the jaw and cheekbone. The gourd, plum and medium V have softer curves for the cheeks and neck. The notched and toothed pieces have a ridged or cut-out edge for the jaw and the back of the neck. The S-curve, fishtail, hook and dolphin are long and narrow, for the sides of the nose and around the brow. The mushroom is a small rounded massager for the palm, temples or soles. Sizes differ by shape, and most fit in your palm. The S-curve is about 10.5 cm long.

How to use it

Start with clean skin and a few drops of oil, serum or cream so the stone glides. Hold it almost flat against your skin, not on its edge. Use light pressure and move upward and outward, from the middle of your face to your hairline. Do three to five strokes on each area. Five to ten minutes is plenty. Wash the stone with mild soap and water afterwards and dry it.

Is this the one for you

Material

Stone named as rose quartz by the manufacturer. Every stone is cut from natural material, so the colour, veining and size of yours will differ from the pictures. Some pieces are paler pink than others.

Before you start

Never drag the stone over dry skin. Do not use it on broken skin, sunburn, active breakouts, rashes, varicose veins or new piercings. Keep the pressure light, as pressing hard can bruise or leave red marks. Around the eyes, stay on the bone and keep off the eyelid itself. Stone chips and breaks if it is dropped. Check it before each use and stop using a piece that is chipped or cracked, because the edge can cut. Keep small pieces away from children.
