Sandal season, and the soles of your feet are not ready. Hard, rough and catching on the sheets. This is one quiet evening with your feet up, and a fortnight of patience.
Each pair is a set of plastic socks lined with an exfoliating liquid. You wear them once, for about an hour. Over the next one to two weeks the hard, dry skin on your soles loosens and sheds by itself. Underneath, your feet feel softer and smoother. It is not instant, and it is not pretty while it happens. Plan it for a week of closed shoes.
One pair or four pairs of sealed foot mask socks, one pair per sachet. The sachet design may vary.
Soak your feet in warm water for ten minutes and dry them well. Cut the sachet open along the top and slide your feet into the socks. Fold the tops closed and pull a pair of ordinary socks over them to keep them snug. Sit or lie down; the liquid makes the plastic slippery. Leave them on for the time printed on your pack. Then take them off and rinse your feet with clean water. After three to seven days the skin on your soles starts to shed. It can carry on for up to two weeks. A warm foot soak each evening helps it along.
Yes, if your heels and soles feel hard and rough and you can wait two weeks for the result. Perhaps not, if you want softer feet tonight with nothing shedding. The Moisturising Gel Gloves and Socks are worn over your own cream, with nothing to shed.
Key ingredients named by the manufacturer: aloe vera extract, lactic acid, glycerin, cucumber extract, lauryl alcohol. Check the full ingredient list printed on your packaging before first use.
Patch test first: dab a little of the liquid on your inner arm and wait 24 hours. Do not use it on broken, cracked-open, bleeding or infected skin, or on cuts, blisters or athlete's foot. If you have diabetes or poor circulation, ask your doctor before using it. Do not use it while pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not use it on children. Do not pull or peel the shedding skin; let it come away by itself, or the skin underneath can tear. Do not walk around in the socks. Keep the liquid away from your eyes and rinse with water if it gets in. Stop and rinse your feet if they burn, sting or swell. Wait until the shedding has finished and your skin feels normal before you use another pair.
